Grants first apprentice qualifies

01/12/2011
Dom Rogers

We are delighted to announce that Dominic Rogers has just successfully finished his Service Technician Apprenticeship and is now a fully qualified Service Technician here at Grants SEAT.

Dominic joined us shortly after we opened in 2008 so this is an extra special celebration as he is our very first apprentice to successfully complete this programme. The SEAT Advanced Apprenticeship Programme is designed to train and develop apprentices in a way that enables them to keep pace with advancing technology and high levels of customer service.

The comprehensive, three-year Programme provides apprentices with an exciting and challenging opportunity to achieve formal qualifications through extensive product training, while in full-time employment.

On completing the course, apprentices will gain an NVQ Level 3, an IMI Technical Certificate, an Advanced Apprenticeship Completion Certificate and Key and Core Skills Certificates relevant to their chosen specialist area.

All the off-the-job training takes place at the Volkswagen Group's state of the art National Learning Centre in Milton Keynes.

Since joining Grants in 2008 Dominic has been a hardworking and diligent member of the team. His attitude to his work and his studies has been second to none and he has been a model student. In addition to receiving all the qualifications above, along with all the other successful apprentices, SEAT UK treated him to a drive day at Rockingham Speedway where he got drive an array of cars round the track, plus an off road experience and to top if off he was taken round the track sitting next to a pro driver!

Back at the dealership we had our own celebration and presented Dominic with a SEAT Sports watch. He is pictured above with our Aftersales Team and his watch!

We are great supporters of organically growing our staff of the future and hot on Dom's heels are Chris, James and Faye all working towards the same qualification.

Our Managing Director, Darren Williams, said "Our apprentices are the future of our business and it is invaluable to us that they start their career on a solid foundation.  The Advanced Apprenticeship Programme is the best in its class and produces highly skilled and qualified technicians at the end of it.  I am delighted for Dominic and really pleased all his hard work has paid off".

Watch this space for the next announcement!
