Winners at the Essex Business Excellence Awards

We are delighted to announce we scooped the coveted Excellence in Marketing award at last night's glitzy ceremony for the Essex Business Excellence Awards held at Stock Brook Golf & Country Club.

We managed to take the heavily contested prize thanks to an innovative and varied programme of marketing activities designed to build our presence in the local community, increase awareness of the dynamic SEAT brand and drive traffic to our showroom at Galleys Corner near Freeport.

Our programme included the partnership with the Chelmsford Chieftains ice hockey team and Autism Anglia as well as various outdoor events to really weave ourselves in to the local community.  We have also embraced social media and talk to lots of people every day via Facebook and Twitter.  It was all about doing things that enabled local people to get to know us and see that we do things quite differently. 

The judges were really impressed and said "We liked the fresh approach and careful competitor analysis that led this husband and wife team to 'think outside the box' for their marketing objectives, which is quite different to the traditional methods of promoting and running a car dealership".

The marketing award was not our only interest in the event.  Our Managing Director, Darren Williams, was runner-up in the outstanding Business Person of the Year category, narrowly missing out on the gong despite a glowing endorsement from the judging panel who said he 'left a positive and lasting impression on everyone who visits the dealership'.

That's Darren and I pictured above and our plaque will take pride of place in the customer waiting area for all to see!
