Grants customers celebrate at Goodwood
15/07/2011Here at Grants we love to get our customers involved with all things automotive so when one of them mentioned she was taking her husband to the Goodwood Festival of Speed as a surprise for their wedding anniversary we saw an opportunity to help make their day really special for them.
Louise Ward had recently bought a Ibiza Sport Coupe from us which was when she mentioned about the surprise trip to Goodwood and with the help of SEAT UK we managed to get them VIP all the way!
On talking to Louise after the trip here's what she had to say:
"When I mentioned to Grants that we were going to the 'Goodwood Festival of Speed - Moving Motor Show' for our Wedding Anniversary as a surprise for my husband, the last thing we expected was the red carpet treatment but boy, did Grants blow us away with their generosity and kindness. We were presented with VIP tickets and a day to remember.
We arrived at Goodwood in brilliant sunshine and made straight for the SEAT stand as instructed. We were given special passes and booked for our very special drive up the 'Goodwood Hill Climb' which only a select few have the opportunity to do.
After a nice walk round we enjoyed a superb relaxing lunch that had been arranged for us. At the SEAT Courtesy Suite we were lucky enough to meet Dougie Lampkin and watched some of the most amazing motorcycle stunts.
At 2pm it was our big moment and as I waited on the start line for the marshall to give the go ahead signal all I could think was, Stirling Moss, Jackie Stewart, David Coulthard, don't stall the car or kangaroo it off the line! The marshall's hand lifted and I slammed my foot on the accelerator and we were off - oh boy there are only three words that I can say - SEAT...LEON...CUPRA R - what a car.
How much BHP a car has means nothing to me but this car just launched itself off the line like a rocket. Sean then took the wheel and drove like a pro. When we got out we both looked at each other and said 'guess we've found our future car!'
We had driven past Grants SEAT so many times and then I had the opportunity to go in to look for another car with my husband saying 'if you like it buy it'. It can be intimidating for a lady to buy a car alone but from the moment I met Gary Mills I was treated with respect, courtesy and kindness. There was no hard sell and everything was explained to me thoroughly - nothing was too much trouble.
Even when I was waiting for the Goodwood tickets to arrive Katie and Gary went to great lengths to get the tickets to me.
Our day at Goodwood - brilliant. As for Grants SEAT - helpful, respectful, obliging, understanding and a great bunch of people who will go to any length to help you."
